Replacing Britney Spears and L.A. Reid on Fox’s The X Factor are Destiny’s Child member and “Motivation” singer, Kelly Rowland and Latin singer Paulina Rubio, joining Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato on the judge panel.

Simon released a statement Monday night, saying, “It’s taken more than a decade but I’m delighted to finally be on a panel with three girls (I think!). Paulina and Kelly both have great taste and massive experience in the music industry and together with Demi, this is going to be a fun panel. It just feels like the time to do something different.”

Rowland was a judge on the Britain’s version of X Factor in 2011 but left the following year, due to scheduling conflicts.  “I am very excited to be reuniting with Simon Cowell and ‘The X Factor’ family. It feels great to be able to take this journey here at home in the States, ” Kelly said.

Rubio has been nominated for Best Latin Pop Album at the Grammys twice. Her statement, “I can’t wait to find the next big music star here in America. I’m so thrilled to be part of the show as a judge. Simon, be careful what you wish for, let’s see if you are ready to handle me, empieza la fiesta, amigo!”

Cardi B Makes History as First Female Rapper to Land Two No. 1 Singles

Published

on

Cardi B just accomplished something no other female rapper has done.

Thanks to her latest single, I Like It, the New York native is the first female rapper with two songs to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the music magazine reported Monday.

The track featuring Latin music stars Bad Bunny and J Balvin was released in May, and is the latest single off Cardi B’s debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy.

It follows the release of club anthem Bodak Yellow (Money Moves), which climbed to the top of the Hot 100 in October.

Four other female rappers have previously landed No. 1 singles on the Hot 100, including Lauryn Hill with Doo Wop (That Thing) in 1998. Lil’ Kim had Lady Marmalade with Christina Aguilera, Mya and Pink in 2001. Shawnna was featured on Ludacris’ single Stand Up in 2003, and Iggy Azalea with Fancy featuring Charli XCX in 2014.

Before her album was released, Cardi B began to garner attention as a regular castmember on the VH1 reality series Love & Hip Hop: New York.

She is currently expecting her first child with rapper Offset of hip-hop trio Migos.

The two tied the knot last year, but never went public with their marriage until Offset let it slip on stage last month during the BET Awards that they are husband and wife. Cardi B has since confirmed the marriage on social media.

You can watch I Like It below….WARNING,  the video  contains profanity.

Mariah previously told fans she was only cancelling shows up until November 27, telling her followers: ‘Lambs! Just in time for the holiday gift-giving season, it seems I’ve received a present of my own; a lovely upper respiratory infection after last week’s flu. Bleak!’

She added: ‘You know there is nothing I love more than celebrating the holidays with my festive Christmas show, but I have to take my Doctor’s orders and rest until he says I can sing on stage.

‘Until then, unfortunately, I have to cancel the first several shows of my upcoming Christmas tour. ‘I’m going to do all that I can so that I can see you soon.’

She was also recently forced to pull out of the LA premiere of her animated nativity film The Star, blaming an upset stomach.

While Carey was feeling “under the weather” over Thanksgiving, her twins, Moroccan and Monroe, spent the holiday feeding the homeless with their dad, Nick Cannon.
